Testimonials
Göran Eriksson, ABB Corporate Research, Sweden:
I was pleasantly surprised by how much information I got from talking to COMSOL employees, ABB employees and the other participants. Compared to many other conferences I've been to, the COMSOL Conference 2009 in Milan offered a much wider exchange of information, in terms of both making contacts and gaining knowledge.
Matthias Hackert, Technische Universität Chemnitz, Germany:
I really enjoyed the COMSOL conference in Milan. The program consisted of an interesting mix of keynote presentations, courses and user presentations. Not at least all the COMSOL staff members were very pleasant and professional in making this event to a highlight in my scientific work in 2009. I'm looking forward to attend the next European COMSOL Conference in Paris.
Riccardo M.G. Ferrari, Danieli Automation S.p.A., Italy:
The scientific level of user presentations and poster session was much higher than what I was expecting. The conference proved to be invaluable in terms of making new contacts with industrial partners working in the same field as I am.
Luca Armellin, Metelli S.p.A., Italy:
In Milan I had great days for sharing knowledge and experienced a friendly and pleasant environment. You can freely discuss with users who are really experts and it's very easy to find someone that has suggestions and valuable ideas. Very useful days!
Mads Jakob Herring Jensen, Widex A/S, Denmark:
It was a very nice conference with interesting presentations and good networking opportunities.
Philipp Vossler, Zeugin Bauberatungen AG, Switzerland:
The personal support session at the demo station was very good and more helpful than one year of COMSOL Support and any of your handbooks!
Fabio Ferrero, Bundesanstalt für Materialforschung und Prüfung, Germany:
The COMSOL Conference in Milan gave me the possibility to get in touch with the COMSOL Multiphysics staff, which gave me the impression of a very much solid, competent and human team. Furthermore the conference gave me the occasion to share my work with experts in many simulation fields. Remarkable was also the possibility of making new contacts, which may be able to help me in further research.
Okan Ecin, Universität Duisburg-Essen, Germany:
I get a lot of information during the entire conference in Milan. The employees of COMSOL were all very helpful and obliging. Finally I do not regret my visit on the conference and I am looking forward to attend on the next conference.
Nicolas Fillot, INSA de Lyon, France:
The COMSOL Conference is very good place to meet the COMSOL representatives and to have precise and useful advice on how to use COMSOL on our problems. You realize how so many people from so many different fields can be interested in the same tool. And so: a good place to find people from other disciplines but with the same difficulties.
Ivar Kjelberg, CSEM, Switzerland:
COMSOL, as a simulation tool, is finally allowing me to use PDE's efficiently for extensive physics simulations, not only for interesting mathematical exercises. With the new model set up of V4, I can make another big jump in efficiency, and speed up complex multiphysics simulations, as never before. Attending the yearly conferences allows me to learn about the latest updates, new ideas and approaches, and meet and exchange with people having similar challenges to solve.
Pawel Piskur, Koszalin University of Technology, Poland:
I am really grateful for information from talking to COMSOL employees.
Giancarlo Sorrentino, Università degli studi di Napoli Federico II, Italy:
I was amazed about the good organization of the conference, from the precision with which were carrying out the various courses and tutorials at the user presentation.
Philip Marmet, (to the right in the photo), Bern University of Applied Sciences, Switzerland:
The conference gave me a lot of inputs for my work and good contacts to other COMSOL user.
Giovanni Campa, Politecnico di Bari, Italy:
Was pleasantly surprised by the enthusiasm of COMSOL staff and by the enthusiasm of attendees. I have noticed the great exchange of information.
Thomas Behrmann, FWBI Bremen, Germany:
I liked the (high) level of the PDE workshop. Even if it was difficult for a beginner to understand the information provided, it pulled me much ahead understanding how to work with these kinds of problems.
Bertrand Baudouy, CEA Saclay, France:
I did enjoy a lot the COMSOL conference! I did appreciate the quality of the minicourses which make the users save a lot of time. I am ready for V4 now!
Stefan Jonsson, KTH, Sweden:
I am very happy to meet many researchers from various fields performing simulations which can appear to be very tailored for one application but on second glance have many things in common regarding boundary conditions and solution techniques etc. I think the combination of key lectures, presentations, minicourses and tutorials with massive support from COMSOL employees, is very successful. There is a big variation which will suit many listeners. I have visited the COMSOL Conferences in Stockholm, Grenoble and now Milan and I will definitely do everything to go to Paris for the next conference. I believe COMSOL Multiphysics is bringing researchers closer to each other.
Yael Yasur, Rotem Industries, Israel:
Talking to COMSOL excellent staff was the most helpful experience, and the minicourses were great.
Yvonne Haba, University Rostock, Germany:
It was a really good organized conference. I got new ideas about my further work.
Mark Yeoman, (to the right in the photo), Continuum Blue Ltd., United Kingdom:
The COMSOL conference 2009 in Milan offered a great opportunity to network and to assess current numerical methods with both academic and industrial peers. I found that the level of R&D performed with COMSOL multiphysics excellent, in both breadth and depth. It is certainly good to see COMSOL at the forefront of multiphysics numerical modelling and research.
Kamal Shahim, EPF-Lausanne, Switzerland:
It was a great opportunity to contact directly with the COMSOL support group and in addition, the user presentations and mini-courses were helpful by suggesting plenty of points and tricks that can be used in COMSOL.
Ekkehard Holzbecher (in the middle in the photo), Georg-August-Universität Göttingen, Germany:
At the European COMSOL conference I was impressed by the range of application fields in which the multiphysics approach has been established as a useful tool - demonstrated by models set up using COMSOL Multiphysics, presented mostly in high scientific quality.
Marco Mastrovito, ITEA SpA, Italy:
It was surprised to find so many Multiphysics FEM-enthusiasts. When you attend the COMSOL conference, you always come back wiser and with thousands of new ideas to improve your work.
Filip Van den Abeele, OCAS, Belgium:
It was a splendid conference, with interesting contributions from both academic experts and participants from the industry. I enjoyed the hands-on workshops and tutorials, and I'm looking forward to working with COMSOL 4.0!
