Introduction

This is an introduction to COMSOL Multiphysics and the AC/DC Module with a focus on AC and statics modelling. You will learn how to build models in Electrostatics, Magnetostatics and low frequency AC applications. The course also gives an introduction to multiphysics involving electromagnetic phenomena. It allows current and potential users of COMSOL Multiphysics and the AC/DC Module to quickly get acquainted with its modelling capabilities.

Contents

  • The fundamentals of mathematical modeling for electromagnetic fields within statics and quasi-statics
  • Electrostatics
  • Magnetostatics
  • Computation of electromagnetic forces
  • Quasi-static approximations
  • Computation of inductance, capacitance and resistance
  • Current and fields coupled to heat generation and heat transfer
  • Solvers, visualization, and postprocessing

Trainer

James Perkins
