The Application Gallery features COMSOL Multiphysics® tutorial and demo app files pertinent to the electrical, structural, acoustics, fluid, heat, and chemical disciplines. You can use these examples as a starting point for your own simulation work by downloading the tutorial model or demo app file and its accompanying instructions.
Search for tutorials and apps relevant to your area of expertise via the Quick Search feature. To download the MPH-files, log in or create a COMSOL Access account that is associated with a valid COMSOL license. Note that many of the examples featured here can also be accessed via the Application Libraries that are built into the COMSOL Multiphysics® software and available from the File menu.
This file shows how to create a surface of an irregular shape based on text, image, or elevation data. This approach is best suited for data where the height (or elevation) is a function of _x_- and _y_-coordinates. The data is of the Matterhorn, a European mountain located in the ... Read More
These models are featured in the blog post [Analyze Violin Tone and Volume with Multiphysics Modeling](http://www.comsol.com/blogs/analyze-violin-tone-and-volume-with-multiphysics-modeling/). One applies acoustic-structure interaction to study how the air mode resonance is affected by ... Read More
This example exemplifies how to model applications using the *Events* Interface where a thermostat is sumlated. A more detailed description of the phenomenon and the modeling process can be seen in the blog post "[Implementing a Thermostat with the Events Interface](https://www.comsol.com/blogs/implementing-a-thermostat-with-the-events-interface/) ... As an example of how to build an app using the Application Builder, this application simulates the transient response of a beam, or bridge, that is placed on several equidistant supports and is subjected to a traveling load. The purpose of the Beam Subjected to Traveling Load app is to ... Read More
The compressible Euler equations are implemented in the Wave Form PDE interface with nodal discontinuous Lagrange shape functions to compute the flow in a shock tube. The purpose of this application is to simulate the flow in the tube and estimate the distributions of pressure, density, ... Read More
This model demonstrates three different ways to find the eigenfrequencies of a rectangular metallic cavity. The first method uses an eigenfrequency study step together with the Electromagnetic Waves, Beam Envelopes interface. Here, it is important to define a wave vector for the physics ... Read More
When you are working with foreign CAD or ECAD data, such as files in the STEP, GDS, or IGES file formats, or any of the other supported formats, you may think that you need to re-import a new CAD file and start your modeling over from scratch if you want to study a change in size or ... Read More
Helical static mixers are often used to mix monomers and initiators that then react during a polymerization process. The purpose of the Helical Static Mixer application is to demonstrate this mixing process as well as the use of parts and parameterized geometries when building apps. The ... Read More
Use the Cluster Setup Validation app to validate if the current default cluster settings, as taken from the preferences, correctly submit jobs to the cluster. This app also allows you to override the default cluster settings to, for example, test modifications to the current setup or ... Read More
